hi. i just installed HD Tune pro, and found this.

 

in the attachments u can see i got errors. im not a hard drive expert, (not even a beginner) can some one help me and tell what is this? should i worry about this? its on my other computer and this drive is the main drive where my OS is installed. what should i do? is it serious?

Too many reallocated sector means dive is more prone to failures. 

 

 

Your drive have millions of sectors so a few hundreds is relatively small.

Yes. Better to replace it as soon as you can. You are in danger of data loss. 

 

 

It already self corrected by reallocating. You can recheck your drive with any of the free diagnostic tools in these toolkits.

ok thanks guys. i m about to get my ssd soon. just wanted to ask if there is any way to completely format the complete hard drive like we can format usb drive. is there any safe way or software to format full hard drive so that i can remove the windows installation as well?

 

and one more question, if a drive does not have windows on it, and is used just as storage drive, if it fails, and dies during computer is on, will it effect windows in anyway?

It's not a life or death situation yet, but bad sectors definitely aren't good. Replace it in the next month or so to be safe.

I'm not sure about the first one (I don't know of any software, and I can't really look for any right now), but as for the second one, no. Unless the Windows install is spanned to that drive (like in some RAID configs), nothing will happen, unless you have programs on it (then they obviously won't work).
