graphics card 100% CPU and 50% GPU

Good Evening guys

So pretty much on fortnite and most games my cpu is at 100% and gpu at 50%

Specs are as followed

i7 7700

rtx 2080ti 

8gb of 2444 mhz ram

I try to fix most games but nothing seems to work! I can play and ill barely get past 120 frames on 1080p on ultra. Be it pubg,fortnite,Metro Exodus and games alike. I stutter crazy hard and my frames often dip to below 90 and remain in the mid 80s. I have no clue why this happens at all ;-;. So pretty much i just cant keep stable frames at all.

Well, what did you expect? 7700 is bottlenecking the 2080 Ti.

Try to limit your max FPS to prevent stuttering, how many RAM sticks do you have?

1080p is CPU intensive so its kinda normal that its higher than your GPU the 8 GB of Ram might be a limiting factor too.

 

If your CPU is at 100% the whole time its struggeling to bring information to your GPU.

But your GPU is at 50% since it has not much to do a 2080ti is a monster of a GPU not made for 1080p but higher resolutions.

 

Try and get another 8 gb stick of the same ram you have to get 16gb.

 

Like Quadriplegic said the 7700 is bottlenecking the 2080ti you have. if you want to make better use of the 2080ti get a 1440p 144hz monitor so u take a bit of the load off the CPU since 1440p is more GPU intensive.

Your RTX2080 Ti is barely being worked, because the 7700 isn't sending instructions to it quickly enough.

Your CPU is bottlenecking the RTX 2080 Ti, and (maybe) your RAM is running on single channel which can affect performance of the CPU

Also why did you use the 2080 Ti for 1080p? That thing is made for Ultra 4K setting and it barely used half of its power to max out 1080p

It barely pushes 60fps at 4K ultra.

 

 But totally agree - in this build the card does not make sense as the CPU is the limiting factor here.
