For 1080p 60fps I would suggest a 1660 ti, 9400f, an air cooler (like the dark rock 4), and your ram looks good.

60fps isn’t that hard to hit in 1080p and these parts should be able to do it easily. Reviewers alway use ultra settings and the most demanding games because they emphasize differences, so make sure you are looking at games you actually want to play.

everyone is moving to amd ryzen, get r5 3600/x

I don't believe the computex reveal showed that the R5 series was beating out i5 in single core. That seemed to be the focus of the 3700X. (correct me if I'm wrong, moguls.)

That said, the i5 9600k at a 5.2ghz OC does beat out the 2700 and 2700X handily in most game titles, even when pushing to a hearty 4.2ghz all cores.

As much as Steve doesn't want to give it a positive review (and I agree that an i7 makes more sense) the numbers don't lie.

I am interested to see what they make of Zen 2 though!

ANY game at max at 1080p on a 2060? Nope. Metro Exodus says hi:

Is hairworks enables in the metro benchmark? Those numbers seem a little low when compared to other metro exodus benchmarks. Also OP never said he wanted to play games at max.

Yes.

Professional benchmarks only test one specific segment of the game and it's usually towards the beginning where framerates are higher. I can tell you from my own experience on a 9700K and a GTX 1080 Ti, there are full areas that dip all the way down to 50 at 1080p (the desert map) and that's WITHOUT hairworks on and of course no ray tracing or DLSS. Just go on YouTube and look for "Metro Exodus Desert Extreme 1080p" and watch all the video cards come to their knees. The only card that doesn't ever break 60 FPS is the 2080 Ti.

Yep, I never said he did. I was just quoting the guy who said an RTX 2060 can run any game at max settings with 60 FPS at 1080p. It's just not true.

This was tested with a 2080, not a 2060.

Here's another video that showcases the 2060 vs 2070 vs 2080 vs 2080 Ti (and shows the same framerates on the 2060):

Here's a video of the desert map on a 1070 (about the equivalent of a 2060):

It translates to the Ryzen 5's as well. The IPC improvements they got were per core and so all of the products down their stack will have the same per-core performance. Ryzen 5 might have lower clocks, though, which would affect how well they match Intel out of the box. What concerned ME was that the best they could show was parity with Intel in ONE game where they made a "custom benchmark" of them running around on a map with no one else around. IF that's the best they could show, then it leads me to believe they aren't matching in all games, which would make me really sad.

I am planning to build a PC myself, is this good PC build to play Triple A games at 1080p resolution 60+ fps it 9600k, RTX 2060, MSI MAG Z390 Tomahawk, AIO liquid CPU cooler, Gskill 8*2 3000MHz DDR4 ram?

You are spending too much on the cpu, board and cooler. An 8700K/9700K would be fine if going Intel and a cheaper air cooler and board such as the Gigabyte Z390 UD.

If you are not in a rush though, then yeah wait for Ryzen 3xxx reviews.

Yeah I did find their showcase highly catered. They always seem to fall back on Cinebench as a benchmark we would care about (which is fine, play to your strengths) but in all but rendering workloads, that's useless data. The R7 already beats out the i7 series in Cinebench.

The single core gains mentioned were also only a 1% improvement over the current gen Intel lineup... So if it's gaming only, and an i7 is on a good sale, I'm still likely to recommend it :) Though I think in the case of the 9600K and certainly the 9400F, having that extra CPU backbone makes sense out of the 3600/3600X if they can match the single core. We shall see what the benchmarks say :)

i7 processors in my country are quite expensive,

i5 9600k ~ $330

i7 8700k ~$460

i7 9700k ~ $500

What cooler do you suggest for this set up for overclocking?
