Hello everyone, I'm planning to build a gaming pc... I have come up with few different systems but I'm trying to figure out the best one. Mostly I'm torn choosing between 2600x and 9400F.

My option:

 * Go with Ryzen 5 2600x ( AM4 socket will be able to upgrade to Ryzen 3rd gen in the future)

 * Rx 590 8 GB PowerColor Red Devil Edition (or Saphire Nitro+ depends on price change, now both the same 220£)

 * 16GB 3200MHz Ram

 * B450 Tomahawk (or possible spend some more and upgrade to x470 Aorus ultra gaming, but not sure if worth it)

* 480GB - SSD

* Corsair Cardige Series case

Is this system good ? Open to all suggestions

It depends on the use case: if it's strictly a gaming rig, then the 9400F wins, but if it's going to be a streaming PC, or gaming and productivity workloads like editing or rendering, then the 2600x is the better all-rounder. It might be worth waiting until July 7th to get gaming benchmarks on the new Ryzen 3000 CPUs. We know that at Computex they showed us a demo where the 3800x matched the 9900K in one game. Now, that does have me a little concerned right now, because you'd think they'd want to show us a best-case scenario, and if they actually did do that, then their best case is just matching Intel's current offerings. So that's why I'd say to wait until reviews. If the new chips do wind up killing Intel on gaming, then there's no reason not to go for them since then they'll be best at gaming AND at productivity.
