Long story short:

I have MSI A320M Pro-VD/S MB with a Ryzen 1200 and 1x8GB Crucial CT8G4DFD824A 8GB DDR4-2400 UDIMM 1,2V CL17.

I bought 2x8GB to upgrade. 2, because I did not want to mix 2 types of RAM.

One is the Hynix HMA81GR7MFR8N 8GB 1Rx8 DDR4 PC4-2400T RD0-11

The other is the Samsung M393A1G40DB0 8GB 1Rx4 PC4-2133P-RC0-10-DC0

Well... The system only starts with the crucial stick. I upgraded the Bios to the latest available (2 years older than the original - you would expect, this helps - did not change a thing...)

With the Hynix, the PC tries to post and than tuns itself off, just to restart a few sec. later - no BIOS screen.

With the Samsung it is worse: The PC just locks up  - no BIOS screen.

What are my options????? Are this 2 modules at all compatible with RYZEN? I do not find anything at all, that helps me. Seems, that Hynix is not used often with Ryzen... Any recommendations?

"FAQ"

- Why did you not just buy the right stick?

> It was only 49 bucks for the 2 - very cheap for germany, even when used...

> I did not have the possibility to look inside the PC, it was rendering like 24/7 (yes, there is propably software, even CPU-Z could possible answer my question about the RAM type)

Thanks a lot! Need 16GB... Forza H. 4 with 8GB sucks a lot...

You should have 16GB of RAM if you bought 2x8 kit, but the sticks you listed above are only single 8gb. You clearly mixed two types of RAM. If you bought it on the same store, return it and buy a kit that has two sticks on it. make sure to check first your mobo's compatibility sheet before buying RAM. Most RAMs can run even if it is not compatible to you mobo, but you should buy two identical sticks to avoid any issues.

Based on your case, your PC will not totally boot because the sticks you have are not the same or has different specs (timings, CAS, latency, etc.)

If you need an upgrade to 16gb, then buy a new kit with TWO identical sticks. You cannot upgrade your current stick as it might cause instability or yet, your PC will not boot to bios at all.
