Okay so, I stream BL2 gameplay on twitch. I currentlt use a 4500 (possibly 6000) bittate for streaming and have it set to the latest nvidia encoder. My question is, should I stay with the Nvidia encoder or use the 256 (or whatever) encoder. I have a Intel i7-7700k and a EVGA SC gtx 1080.

2 side questions

- Would streaming and recording at the same time with obs make a big performance hit on my game

- is AMD or intel better for streaming games

Edit: after checking I realize I don't have an overclockable 7700k it is only a 7700

I can only answer the two side questions.

1. Streaming and recording at the same time will have performance hit but I son't how big of one with your hardware. You should test it.

2. Intel is generally better since Intel has better IPC than AMD but that doesn't mean a Celeron can outperform a R7 2800X when streaming. Your CPU put up against the Ryzen 5 2400G which also has 4C/8T would definitely win.

So what I was thinking is, I sell my i7 7700 and attached motherboard. And buy a Ryzen 7 2700 and a $90 ryzen board. Would this be worth it?

Edit: After checking, turns out I only have 7700 not 7700k

Oh okay, I see. Well, I mean I think 3rd generation Ryzen is coming out soon. AMD just did a reveal on it at Computex or something like that. I'd wait until then.
