Coolermaster Hyper 212 extra fans

Hi very quick and probably silly question.

I have got a Coolermaster Hyper 212 cooler and two Corsair SP120 fans to go onto it. I expected the hyper 212 to come with a plitter cable for fitting two fans but it does not so I will need to get one. But the sp120 fans are only 3 pin where as the one that comes with the cooler is a 4 pin fan. Does this matter? Is it ok for me to use 3pin fans and to plug them into the connection next to the cpu?

Thanks in advance

Mopman.

It will be fine to use a 3-pin fan, it will just run at a constant 12v.

Will the speed still vary properly depending on temperature? Or will they be stuck at a constant speed?

It'll always be running at full speed, because the CPU_FAN header relies on PWM control for the fan. The PWM is delivered through the 4th pin.

If you plug a 3 pin fan into the motherboard, it should be voltage controlled according to the temperature (i think its the motherboard temp but not sure).
