Hey so i just installed a new motherboard in my computer. Im trying to downsize my computer from ATX to mATX. So i went from a P8Z77-V to a Gigabyte GA-H77M-D3H (quite a downgrade i know). Now im getting issues such as my drivers just refusing to install especially my network drivers just keep freezing and now my computer when shutting down takes forever to shutdown so i have to hold the power button. Im planning to get a Asus Maximus V Gene but i have no idea when i can order one and when its coming in and i was wondering if anyone had an idea of whats going on. Thanks!

Gigabyte GA-H77M-D3H

I would say download the program Paragon Restore and run it (burn to disc, it's an iso). It will remove the previous drivers and allow easier install of new drivers.

If not, just do a clean install of Windows. That's the route I would go myself.

Also your signature is against the rules right now, it's 3 mines max.

Ahhhh but i'd prefer not to cause i really don't want to have to restall and download everything unless theres a way not to? And not its not a fresh install.

Well then you will continue to have problems, unless you try what @ttam suggested.

Is it a fresh install? Because windows will throw a fit if you try to swap MOBO's without doing a fresh install.

I have seen cases in which it works without a hickup, but it is rare.

i definitely agree, microsoft terms one computer different from another based on mobo. differnt mobo it counts as a new pc even if everything else is the same.

a fresh install is typically required for mobo change.

i personally would stick to the orriginal mobo until the final mobo comes so id only have to do a fresh install once because like you said it is a pain to get everything back.
