I know realistically aside from when a hard drive thermal throttles, temperatures of SSD's don't "REALLY" matter much in terms of real world performance, but talking purely benchmarking, synthetics, and minute differences, does an SSD have a goldilocks temperature, benefit from being as hot as possible while not thermal throttling, or as cold as possible without suffering a cold bug or similar setback? I'm wondering because I'm CLOSE to having every piece of my hardware in the 100th percentile on UserBenchmark, but can't figure out what to do to squeeze additional performance out of SSD's other then play around with actively cooling them. Also to clarify my data drive is NAND, but my primary PCIE drive is 3D X-Point, just in case they have different nominal thermal requirements.

The SSD controller should be cool but the nand should be warm. Got no exact temperature numbers for you but cooling down the controller might help a bit

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

As banabasplit says, you want to allow the drive to get a little warm but not hot.  But each drive is different.

 

One of my drives under load instantly shoots to 55c and slows down considerably.  Others are happy at that temperature.

 

I would start somewhere around the 40c mark and experiment

That said, like all computer components, the cooler you can keep things the happier they are.

I'm pretty sure my purpose in life is to serve as a warning for others.
