Windows 7 with those specs should easily run. However using Windows 10 or many different Linux Distributions will automatically pull the correct drivers for you during the install as long as you have an active internet connection. You may need to manually install some drivers on Windows 7.

It should theoretically work, but it is entirely dependant on drivers being available.

Windows 7 updates will likely no longer be available as even though support for 7 ends in 2020, modern CPUs are already unsupported:

How about Windows 8.1?  Yeah, I know you might dislike it. But  Extended Support until 2023, might less bloatware than Windows 10, and faster than Windows 7.
