optical drive no power

now im not sure if this is the right forum but it sounds fitting for this problem. i have my optical drive connected all snug and tight but it just wont get power anymore. it was working before, but now a day later it doesn't work anymore.

well you'll have to try at least SOME diagnostics if you want to solve the issue , a different power plug is the easiest one to try.

I've tried diagnostics but all it says that it has a loose cable but it's all connected

so you aren't going to try a different power cable for the optical drive which doesn't have any power then correct?

I don't have another power cable

What machine are you using that only has a single sata power connector and an optical drive

ok hp has made more than one desktop in the past 15 years that use sata power connections care to narrow it down for us?

It's an HP pavilion 590-p0003no

from the looks of it the machine has one for the hdd as well try that plug
