Vega 64 Question

is having a 550w psu good enough for vega 64 at stock or am i in trouble i got the cxm 550w and my cpu is 9600k if that matters

Depending on your CPU and if you OC the cpu... 550w is fine.

However upgrading from that lower tier PSU wouldn't be a bad idea.

You'll be fine. Especially if you can undervolt the card as much as possible.. Just don't expect to go applying power mods to it, though..

550w will be fine.. Vega 64 is a energy hog, but you should be fine.

na im planning on doing nothing i play all my games on the lowest settings possible on 1080p and i get more fps than i ever wanted i was just wondering if in the very long term will it be okay

You'll be fine.. I mean I don't know much about power supplies but you shouldn't really exceed 550w without power mods.. 

 

You should try to undervolt, though, if you haven't yet..

i dont know how and what is does and will it increase temps ?

Undervolting will help lower temps and decrease power draw.. For example, a card using 1400mv to run at max potential uses more power, which increases heat output.. Than a card using 1050mv.. The lower you can go the better your card will run.. This also allows your card to boost higher since it will reduce thermal throttling.. 

 

Sounds complicated, right? It's not. Please just watch a couple videos on YouTube to figure it out, you'll thank me later.. 

 

I've had the Vega 56 Strix, the LC Vega 64 and now the Radeon VII. Trust me, it helps!

can you link me the shortest and best video showing me how to underbolt it with the gigbyte version of the card or is it the same with all of the vega 64

It's the same within Radeon Settings.. 

 

Here's two videos, but I'm on my phone and just scanned through them very fast but looks like it should do the job.. I think this stuff is important for any AMD card owner, so they get the most from their cards.. My cards have always performed better than any benches I've seen online, so be patient and treat your card right and keep it cool..

If you have updated GPU drivers for the Vega 64, right click desktop and click AMD Radeon Settings or something.. Should also be in the icon tray in bottom right.. I'm not at my PC but you should be able to find that page in the settings..
