I want to install cyanogen mod 11 on my htc one tonight and I can't use the installer because my phone is with bell and it wasn't recognized.

Can anyone link me all the files I need to install and a guide preferably with photos on how to install it. I don't need to keep anything on my phone but you're still suppose to backup the os right?

Thanks, I'm new to phones, this is my first one ;) (<-- pun)

You have to unlock your bootloader, flash a custom recovery, then flash the cyanogen mod zip.

If you cant install CM using installer then you will need to download the latest CM from there site for your phone and flash it through a custom recovery like TWRP or CWM.

bell and other carriers have a tendency to not allow their costumers to unlock the boot loaders on their phone ( had this problem with my Xperia T from rogers) and to install CM you HAVE to unlock the bootloader of your phone.

but this might only be a problem for Sony devises or it might not be.

here is a link to the KK CM10 on XDA

browse around the site and you will find a how to guide on unlocking and installing Recovery and Rooting the phone
