Help for OC and Temps

Go to solution Solved by REalitypower,

THIS IS SOLVED!

So i basicly downloaded Intel Extreme tuning utility and there it shows the reasons of speed drop. Its wasnt't thermal throttling, it was trying to go over current limit. I just put CPU current limit to 280 and it's not dropping the speeds and temps are still under 80.

So, I'm basically overclocking CPU first time in my life.

I checked some "tutorial" from MSI own page, how to do this, but it doesn't work on me https://www.msi.com/blog/intel-9th-cpu-overclocking-5ghz-with-z390-motherboards.

I basically copied every setting on that page, but put my CPU ratio to 49. I started started testing different ratios and voltages and highest ratio it runs is 47, otherwise it drops 300Mhz down when under load.

I've been testing temps and speeds with cinebench and prime95 and it drops speeds at 70C, which is why i think its thermal throttling, but i can't help it.

I changed literally today to watercooling (had this pc for 6 months) and it still wants to go high as 70c on stock speeds under load. It did that on previous air-cooler too, but I didn't think much about it. Is something wrong with my PC or have i missed something? Just help me out guys. Thanks for advance.

I have the same CPU, with a MSI board.

Set it to turbo boost+multi core enhancement.

All cores will boost to 4.9Ghz.

I have this settings from the first day i bought it and it work like a charm.
