camera under $250

I plan to go traveling this year so I need to get a new digital camera, something i can just point and shoot with as i am no expert.

I came across The Samsung WB250F on sale for $140 (au) Is this a good camera or is there something better for under $250 and if possible could i get something better for under $250 that is waterproof?

Yeah, I'm gonna have to say a cell phone as well unless you have a seriously outdated phone.

I don't believe the Samsung is waterproof. I'd also avoid "smart cameras". They're usually not as good as a regular camera.

i dont really like the images that come out of my note 3. they are good but i really want a proper camera i can take good videos and pictures with.

I have been looking a bit more and I found I can get the Canon sx 280 new for 200. Is that a better camera despite the battery issue or is the s110 better for the price??
