DVI

So i just bought a DVI cable to day and plugged it in, and my GPU nor my moniter is finding it, what do i to?

Are other ports on your GPU working? Does it work if you plug it into another PC/Monitor? If so like it is a defective cable. You should bring it back to the shop you bought it from and see if they will allow you to get a refund/excahnge.

ask another person you know ask for a dvi cable and plug it in to your monitor if it does work then get another one.

although this might be did you plug it into the gpu not the motherboard

My HDMI port is workink, becuase thats what i been using for the past few days until i could get this, also let me fix that its a DVI to VGA because all my monitors are VGA.

 

Im going to restart PC and see if that helps

best option would be you trying it on another pc and/or monitor. if it still doesnt work then an exchange at the shop is the next best option.

Seems to be a faulty peace because it didnt work on my brothers PC

The thing is my old DVI-I port worked fine with my old GPU but now that i have DVI-D its being weird

well of course. DVI-I is a mixed output, digital and analog, DVI-D is just digital.

what you have is just an adapter cable, what you need is a DVI to VGA converter
