The motherboard will down clock the ram.

im thinking of putting better ram in my laptop which currently has a 4-GB memory module (PC3, 10600, 1333-MHz) @ 1.35v if i was to change it for a corsair would it be compatible?

 

It should work but contact Corsair for their ok on it being compatible or not.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.
