NPM Issue

Nano Adam

I have a Mac and a Windows Computer. Whenever I do npm ...on the windows machine, it takes along time for the package to be done. But on the Mac the process flies. Also, the Windows Machine is plugged into Ethernet and the Mac is on Wifi.

What do I do? I am learning React and Vue and need NPM to work properly.

is there a specific command that runs slowly? It's also worth noting if repeated commands also run slowly. Many npm commands fetch and cache things, so on future uses of that command it might be much quicker because those modules are already cached.

The only command that I am successful in installing and running and using was Electron JS. I was able to do

npm install -g @vue/cli

but when I want to do anything, even using the UI of it is slow. Like just to navigate to the folder i want to install in is extremely slow. But on the other hand, the Mac is lightning fast at this job.

Is windows updates running in the background. That thing eats up huge bandwidth and disk I/O. Not to mention it likes to failed and restart, fail, restart, countless times because you know... Windows.

It is not Windows being the issue. I would know if Windows is being the issue if either my laptop palm rest starting getting warm or my computer Chrome browser will not respond.

Thanks
