I'm not a networking guy. I despise it.

Their setup is this

Server in the back

2 stations in the office.

The 2 stations vpn into the server.

Have a client that called in because they lost internet and connection to their server. I go in, fiddle with some things. They were using a Sonicwall TZ210 router. Wasn't able to even connect to the router settings (with and without hard reset) so we come up with lets buy a new router capable of what we need - They buy it after hours, install it, no internet. I go back in, set it up everything works except their local vpn.

In the router settings, I open up all the ports, enable vpn pass through, etc.

Still unable to access the server via vpn let alone connect to it.

Am I missing something? Should I try and turn on Respond to Ping on Internet Port under wan settings?

My normal network guy I send out is gone and said it would take like 5 hours to get it all setup again.

Any tips?

PPTP VPN works over TCP port 1723, be sure that is open. When you're at the office go to canyouseeme.org and test 1723. This will see if the port is open and the service is on. I would also try to restart either the whole server or just the PPTP vpn service.

Or if you know their IP address then you can use the following website to test 1723 remotely:

http://ping.eu/port-chk/

I did go in and open 1723 - When you click the network icon on the taskbar to connect to the vpn, it prompts for user/pass, acts as if it's going to login and gives an error saying it cant connect.

Does it give you an error code or anything?

Post the error code when you're able to get a hold of it and i can likely tell you more from there.

Looks like it might be anti-virus or windows firewall related. Not sure though i will try to look into it a bit more.

Make sure it's not blocked by the AV or firewall.

Make sure all clocks are correct.

Do you have room for another session on the VPN server?

What error do you get on the server?

Thing is it was working on a previous router.

Firewalls are turned off

No error on server. I'm not going into their office today, just remoting in.
