Hello ive being having a problem for a long time now with my modmic 5 the issue at hand is basicly a large static noise, possibly a grounding issue,my friends notice it a lot in discord or other voice chats and its really bugging me,

i am using a small audiojack to usb converter cause they said that might help but it didn't...

I got a  FIIO E10K DAC/AMP coming in the mail for my beyerdyanmics cause of the 250 ohm's... but yah that won't fix the mic ofc. (i think?)

things i have tried:

  • Touching the IO plate actually removes almost all the static strangely....hence i'm thinking it is grounding but i have checked all my grounding i even called the landlord for blueprints and it is confirmed i got grounding...
  • unplugging every device that i have connected to the pc or the wallsockets...
  • changing wall sockets (yes i have checked for grounding
  • changing usb ports...
  • played with the AGC(yes that helps but then they can barely hear me and turning agc off is even too low)

PS: I noticed my logitech C922 webcam does not have the issue but the mic quality is horrible...

Thank you for the assistance and i will reply ASAP

happens to some mics with some motherboards. some people solve this issue by getting a usb hub.

Got a usb hub already, tried that, contacted modmic with sample on their discord...it is a ground loop what i did notice strangely is that their provided extention cables for audio cause the problem,i plugged the mic straight into the usb audio adapter and i didn't have the problem...orderd a new cable on amazon that they suggested... prime will get it for me on Saturday (europe)
