OK so I'm trying to build a htpc and I can't get my 7750 working. After setting the GPU setting from bios to PCIE it just resets it back to auto and only the internal GPU works and its driving me crazy....

Things I've tried.

- put GPU into my main PC = works fine.

-replace PSU with a 500w = doesn't work

-try my 7970 in the itx = doesn't work

-flash newest bios = doesn't work

-try a mini-pcie soundcard in the pcie slot = soundcard works fine in the slot.

-try finding the GPU in windows / install catalyst =doesn't work.

-try the HDMI output in the 7750 = no go

Does anyone have any tips on what to try next? The pcie slot doesn't seem completely broken since the soundcard works, can it be partially broken? Thanks for any help!

The PC

Chieftec flyer itx case with 200w PSU

Asus p8h77 I mono

1x4gb Kingston hyperx

320gb HDD

I3 2120 CPU

Sapphire 7750 low profile GPU

No it won't be partially broken.

Have you hit save changes and restart?

Also is/are the 6pin power connectors plugged in.

it doesn't have any power connectors just the pcie.

Yes I've hit f10 save and restart , no go. Wondering if theres a option to save and shutdown. And then inserting the GPU. The PC always restarts and probably resets the internal GPU to the main one.

Hmm should it be on or off? I dont remember what I had it set to. Ill have to fiddle with it once I get home.

To be honest, I was just thinking of things that could be causing the issue. Try it off. I'm guessing it's on but could be wrong.

No difference :(

Does 500W PSU work on other rig?

It should be working fine.

Its probably something with the mobo.

I tried the CPU from my main pc and it didnt work, then I tested it on a older atx mobo I had and it worked fine. Even swapped RAMs around to see if it makes any diggerence. Also tried disabling and enabling various options but still didnt get it working with the asus p8h77-i mobo. Still going to try to flash some different bioses to see if it works...

E: Yea I swapped the mobo with my main rig completely and still no go. There is definitely something wrong with the mobo, I mean all the pcs Ive built before have just worked fine... I think Ill send it to RMA.
