Troubleshooting - PC Crash?

Hey guys,

 

I'm new to the whole forum thing, so Hey! I'm Rich from England, converted to a PC gamer about 7 years ago and got a great spec PC for the time.

I haven't upgraded anything since I initially bought my PC as I have never had any issues until recently.

 

Recently, when I've been in the middle of a game (which use to run perfectly!) my PC just shuts off and reboots, no error message, no warning, no loud noises or anything.
I have searched the web briefly, but I couldn't find anything to help me solve the issue. So I'm here! I've heard great things about the LTT forum, so I was hoping you could help me figure out what the issue could be and how to resolve it?

 

Sorry if this isn't in the correct section, if it's not, can you point me in the direction of the correct place?

If it's shutting down in the middle of a game then it's most likely the PSU at fault.

I don't unfortunately :(
I'll invest in a new one though I think, it's been 7 years and I've not got an upgrade any part of my PC yet, so I think I had better start!

I cleaned it about a month ago, but I've never replaced the thermal paste, I didn't build it myself and would have no idea where to start!

Then check your temperatures under load. If it's so old without thermal paste replacement I bet it's overheating.
