Windows 10 starts with default display drivers

Hello friends.
Every time i start my pc, it starts with low resolution (and the graphics drivers say default display drivers or something like that) and my desktop icons look enlarged etc. However, after a while, from 1 to 5 minutes, the screen goes blank, the speakers play a "device connected" sounds, and the screen comes back with the monitors native resolution and with nvidia drivers installed. This happens every time i start the computer, except sometimes if i restart, it does load the drivers normally. i have tried everything within my knowledge. I updated windows and nvidia drivers, i installed a fresh windows 10, updated everything, MOBO is up to date.
hopefully someone who experienced the same problem can point me in the right direction. thanks guys

My specs are:

  • Windows 10 64 bit
  • Asus prime z370-A (BIOS latest)
  • Intel i5 8600k (overclocked to 4.7GHz but issue still present at stock speeds)
  • 2x8GB gkill (XMP profile 1)
  • EVGA nvidia RTX 2080 (nvidia drivers 430.39, 2019/04/23)
  • Samsung 960 (non pro) SSD (250GB) boot drive
  • seagate firecuda 2tb
  • Corsair HX 750 (750W 80+ gold)

Go to Device Manager, find “Display Adapters,” disable the Intel integrated graphics. Make sure the video cable is plugged in all the way (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C). Reseat the GPU. If it still isn't fixed, make sure the GPU power cables are plugged in all the way on the GPU end and the PSU end.

Please come back to me if it works! Btw, That other guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Legacy bios wouldn’t have anything to do with it.

Hello! sorry for the late reply.

i did mess around with the uefi and it somewhat fixed the problem, but not perfectly. sometimes, i get a black screen after post for a while (maybe like 5 minutes) and eventually the screen comes back on, or i restart. still the problem is the same. Its always a gamble when i turn on my pc, bc i dont know if it will work right away and take me to windows login screen, or i will have to either reboot, or wait for around 5 minutes until the nvidia display drivers kick in or whatever its happening.

I just disabled the intel drivers and will reply if this fixed the problem. thanks for your help!

There is a newer version of the driver dated 5-09-2019, version number 430.64. Try this latest driver or even a previous version, your problem sounds so much as a driver problem!
