APU power draw CPU only +/- GPU influence

A lot of people would buy APUs if they are on a limited budget, others may add in the dGPU if they earn enough.

Back to the CPU part of things, I'm kinda curious. Is the APU power draw overall, decreased when added a dGPU (meaning the CPU part is only the one getting power) or remain the same, as if the iGPU is still being powered but not utilized?

I'm greatly above potato, but I'm getting there...

Midrange Potato LVL 60:

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 with Snowman MT-6 Dual Fans (CPU @ 3.8 GHz - 4.375 GHz to 4.5 GHz @ 1.1V - 1.35V),

MOBO: MSI B550-A Pro
GPU: Asrock RX 5600 XT Phantom Gaming D3 (1820MHz core @930mV)

RAM: TeamGroup T-Force Delta DDR4 Gaming 16GB (2x8GB) 3000MHz 16-17-17-37-58 @ 1.35V,

HARD DRIVE: WD 1TB Blue 
SSD: Toshiba XG5 Series NVMe 512GB (KXG50GVN512G) & Crucial MX500 1TB

CASE: DeepCool Kendomen Titanium case
PSU: Corsair RM-750 (2019) 80+ Gold

Display: Asus VP249QGR via HDMI (144Hz)

Keyboard: Generic PS/2 Keyboard

Mouse: Generic Honeycomb 250Hz Mouse
Speakers: Generic Headset

And yes, there are now fans. 5 Arctic P12 PST's

Yes apu powerdraw will decrease, when then GPU part of it is not used. It might receive power, but that doesn't mean that it uses it.

You could also disable the i-gpu in bios, if you feel that it is needed.

the APU's power draw overall would go down unless the built in gpu is being used to accelerate applicable tasks

Main speaker setup is now;

 

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

 

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

Then, how many watts does the whole APU consume compared to the CPU only? I don't have a power draw meter and techpowerup's gpu z does not give me a clue to how many watts does the iGPU consumes?

I believe the 2200g has a 65W tdp
