Hi

I recently bought 64 GB of G.Skill Trident Z RGB RAM (model F4-3200C16Q-32GTZR).

This is 8 modules total of RAM being used on a MSI X299 GAMING M7 ACK motherboard.

I have a problem of:

1) After a restart Dimm slots B1, B2, A1 and A2 are un-lit and have no RGB lights on.

2) Dimm slots C2, C1, D2 and D1 are all lit and are using a RGB pattern which I think is the rainbow wave.

3) I cannot configure the RGB to work using either the 1.06.68 Trident Z RGB Control or the 1.00.03 Royal Lighting Control software.

4) Trying to use MSI Mystic Light to control the RAM lighting will only change the lights on 3 out of the 8 Dimms specifically dimms B1, A1 and A2. 5 out of the 8 dimms cannot be changed with Mystic Light.

Any help or thoughts would be appreciated to get all of the Dimms configurable with RGB and on the same color or pattern. This RAM package cost me about $450 US.

Other than the lighting problems the RAM works flawlessly at the rated speeds and voltage.

I ended up turning the computer off and re-seating some of the DIMMs and swapping their location and it fixed the problem. Now I have full Mystic Light control with all modules working full RGB, although their G.Skill lighting app still doesn't work.
