Hey guys, in this topic I just want to see your best console killer rigs as well as showing you my own. The rules are simple: the first one is you have a budget up to $500 USD (convert if necessary) and it should have similar dimensions to a play 4 or Xbox one. Thanks for your time.

Shouldn't a console killer be the price of a console?

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige

First what I'm going to do is only make the budget for the gaming hardware and 1TB storage at roughly the same price as a console because if it is to kill a console, it needs to be priced competively to a console, and you can always add more storage anyway!

All the items are used, but should be able to do some gaming to the rough ability of a console, and all from eBay UK, and the screenshots will be at the bottom, incase you are looking at this ages in the future

Base PC - HP 8200 SFF Quad Core Intel Core i5-2500 3.30GHz up to 3.70GHz Turbo Boost, with the 8GB ram and 1TB storage (HDD)

GPU - AMD Radeon R7 350X, 4GB VRAM

price (£190 + £48.45 = £238.45) (246.88 + 62.95 = 309.84 Dollars US)

Of course if you had 500$US you could add a few more terrabytes into the internal storage

And also you could pick up an X-Box One S 1TB in UK for around £250

Desktop PC: Stone PC Lite

APU: AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with Radeon Vega Graphics @ 3,6GHz,
Motherboard: ASUS Prime A320M-R,
RAM: 16GB, Storage: 1TB HDD,
DVD ± RW Drive
Display: 900p (1600x900) 17,5" display,

Fujitsu Siemens keyboard, Easterntimes Tech D-19 wireless ergonomic mouse,
Windows 10 Pro

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Laptop: HP ProBook 6475b

APU: AMD A6-5350m APU with Radeon HD Graphics @ 2,9GHz,
RAM: 4GB, 320GB HDD,
900p (1600x900) 14" display,
DVD ± RW Drive,
Windows 10 Pro

Best possible performance for gaming for the price. Not something I'd ever upgrade, though, outside of storage.

If you insist on an ITX form factor, this (but some sacrifices are made now to RAM):

No, it's a pretty wide standard that the console killer budget is $500 for most competitions. It's because that's the lowest price point in which the PC can completely cream a console (making it worth the extra $100) when using all new parts (usually doesn't allow for used parts). I believe Tom's was the one that started the whole thing. They have an extensive set of rules, too.
