Greetings! So to preface this, I'm not planning on doing this all at once but over the course of months or even years. To sum up what I want to do: I want to make a Iron Man type of sensation when walking into my room. I want to walk in and be able to issue a command and have the lights and my computer turn on and maybe some other things as well. Which I know is possible through Google home. I want to hopefully combine this along with a clean gaming, audio, and video setup. The audio would be the area I'd have the most difficulty with as I would want to have speakers around the room to fill the room with music. Keep in mind the room is a bit bigger than a master bedroom would be and has a wall running running from about half way through the wall into the middle of the room. So the room is kind of split into two. I have no clue how to start with all of this and would like ideas for products and suggestions on how to do all of this. If you have any ideas of other things I could incorporate that would be great. I want a futuristic feel to the room, so as little wires as possible, clean, and functional. Thanks!

Do you have any experience with hardware? A couple (or even one) raspberry Pis could do that for you at a really cheap cost without having to invest in expensive proprietary equipment.  Check out this link for more articles on this topic https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/tag/home-automation/
