I just installed a new gpu (msi gaming x trio 2080ti) in my gigabyte gaming x 7 mobo and now I am getting the continuous buzz of memory error.  I have 32 gb of ram ( dual channel 16 gb each trident z rgb. I did not touch the memory when I did the gpu swap. I tried taking the mem out and putting it back in. Tried different slots turned the xpm on and off in each slot. Tried the sticks singularly in various slots. I don’t believe both stick went bad all at once or all slots in the mobo all went at the same time but I’m at a loss of what to do. Computer posts and runs just have the buzzing. Thoughts???

Thanks,

Matt

Wait your getting a buzzing sound ?  That is not from RAM or CPU,  it could be a botched video card you got.

Why would you think this is memory related? If you add a new gpu and something goes wrong, probably the gpus fault,

Did a full system tear down and made sure it posted with every component one by one and it’s working fine now. Not sure what went on.

Sometimes DIMM slots or the RAM itself are a little bitchy. I've encountered multiple times now where the entire thing doesn't do anything when I power it up, I take out just the RAM, clean it a little and slot it back in. And its works perfectly fine.
