So, recently I got a new PC massively better than my old one but still somehow got lower fps in games like LoL and Overwatch. After some research I tried disabling xmp, LoL gained 100+ fps and Overwatch gained around 15-20fps. I was left confused as the RAM was now running at 2400MHZ but was getting higher FPS when the XMP profile ran it at 3200MHZ.

I'd ideally like to run my RAM at its max settings without losing any FPS any Ideas?

Current Specs:

Ryzen 7 1700x

MSI x470 Gaming Plus

Hyper X 16GB DDR4 CL16

GPU GTX 1060 6G

try to reseat your RAM by switching place. try to play the first stick one slot away from your CPU and another one one slot away from your first stick.

You should also update your motherboard's BIOS as sometimes it fixes that kind of issue.

next, check bios if your PC detects your ram sticks. in windows, you can use CPU-Z to detect individual sticks. if your RAM works fine, try to use XMP again.
