I am trying to switch from my modem which was given by to me by my ISP... The modem is also a router and does not support bridge mode so I am trying to eliminate my double NAT environment... I need recommendations for a VDSL2 Modem that preferably does not have a router built in.

Can't you request a modem from the ISP, which they can swap for the modem router?

i would request a modem from the ISP.

that Router that the ISP gave might have the functions (DMZ) to put your new router out side of its own router. but these options might be hidden from the regular user and might need a technician password to get those.

That is not possible under my circumstances... Supposedly I need there router to run IPTV yet my router the RT-AC66U is able to do this function better... They refuse to give us a simple VDSL2 modem... My ISP uses the ZTE router modem combo...

I just bought this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AJHDZSI/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and its 100x better than any crappy one that your ISP can give you, plus you don't have to pay $5,10 or even $15 a month for a modem.

My System Specs: (Short list) i7 4770k, GTX 780, many SSD's, a 2 TB HDD(deceased :( ), Corsair 650D. Full list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kchriz6097/saved/8dh7YJ

Upgrade Plan: Acquire some Black Noctuas then add 16 or 32GB of 2133MHz memory

Quite pricey isn't it?

It'll pay for itself in the long run, trust me its better to have your own modem than deal with dozens of crappy used ones that like to shut down randomly. Also it a bit more future proof and has enough bandwidth to support any type of internet you could get from your ISP (unless its fibre but that's a different thing)

That's for a cable system, not VDSL.
