So, I am a musician, and want to have all my music in one place, as multiple books can be messy and annoying.

I have recently been looking into Microsoft's Surface lineup, although I do not like the price.

So, I had an idea, of buying a older generation Surface Pro instead of one of the new Surface Go's.  I was looking at some Pro 3's (i5 8gb RAM, 256gb SSD), or the high end Go.

I like the larger screen, but I can use the smaller just as well.

As I would be using this as a school laptop (I have a desktop for gaming), I would only be playing a game like Roblox or Minecraft on it.

This is where I need help, I have been looking around, and found some amazing deals on the Pro 3, but should I go with the newer Go, with the better(ish) specs, or the older Pro with the larger screen?

This help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Um...

I would need some pretty good battery life (above 4 hours), a screen size of about 10" or greater, and under $500 if possible.

And it needs to last more than a couple years, along with being really thin and really light.  This device would also end up being my device that I would use for school.  As I said earlier it needs not to be very powerful, just enough for a few chrome tabs, and some word processing, (but I would prefer it be kinda snappy).

Yeah, it's a tad low....

But with of how it's going to be used, I would like it to be such.

I'm not familiar with used options, apologies

My advice is to get a used business laptop with QM/MQ CPU and make sure it has at least 8GB RAM and a SSD

Ok, thanks....

One question then, I found a certified refurbished Go, and it comes with the Go, Keyboard, Stylus, and mouse all in the same color for only $589.

Would this option be feasible, since it is a refurb?

Yes, that was one of the reasons I was looking at a used Pro 3 or something.

Also, the thing that would be the most intense that this machine would run would be a couple Chrome tabs and a YouTube video, so I don't need a super fast, super expensive device to show a few pictures.

I have a eight year old laptop that only costed $250 new, and it still does these things with 3GB of DDR2 RAM, and a IDE HDD.  It's not fast, but can get the job done, other than being able to be put on music racks.
