question about raid

I have a 120gb ssd and would like to make a raid array and i didn't know if you can stripe different brand ssds together and can you stripe different size together?

You can use mismatched capacity, but you're usually limited to the size of the smallest drive. Brand should not matter; the only thing you'd need to watch for is the difference in SSD write endurance, so a cheaper SSD is likely to fail first (when paired in RAID with a more expensive drive) even if they were purchased at the same time.

Yes but if you put a 128 gb with a 256 gb you have 2x 128 GB limiting factor is your smallest disk.

Yes

Well if you do raid 1 for redundancy its actually 120 Gb total since you mirror both drives.

Are those then they only drives in the system, how old is ur 120 GB what speeds ? sata  sata via m2? pcie ? Raid 1 or 0 ?

i have a hdd that is 2tb and a 120gb ssd the ssd is 1yr old and i wanted to know if i could put that in a raid array i don't currently have a raid array

Would the best option be to get the identical drive new, reformat the old ssd and raid 0 the 2 drives together and then install windows again.
