hi, I have an similiar issue with my laptop as the person in this link

The screen turns off at an certain angle and turns back on at normal position.

 

Now I am wondering if the solution in the link will work in my case since the laptop has started to do this recently. Laptop is complety fine apart from this issue.  (sidenote I move the laptop around a lot)

check connections, if thats not the issue then it could be a broken cable that leads it from motherboard to screen

Wouldn't say its broken, but that connection is loose. Probably a poor hinge design.

yeeah, sometimes its a easy fix sometimes you sacrifice several hours, depends if your laptop is easy to take apart, for me, im rocken a 7 year old hp pavilion m6, amazing laptop for its time and current time, but one problem is... if the fan gets clogged or too much dust is in the heatsink, im screwed because i have to take the whole thing apart piece by piece, before you attempt to take it apart, type your laptop model and then type in teardown, see if its easy to take apart or hard, if you feel comfortable with taking it apart go for it, if it seems to hard, dont try and do it by yourself, go to a pc place near you that provides services to fix it,

Oh yes, it's very poor to say the least. (MSI laptop) 

 

@just that pc guy I did take it apart a few weeks ago because of a  thermal paste swap. For this I needed to remove the display cable because it was wedged between the cooler. Could it gotten loose over the weeks?

It's possible that you didn't fit the cable back perfectly, causing it to be a little loose. But it might also not be your fault if the hinge is as poorly designed as you say.

Will look at it when I have the time. It's not really an urgent problem

Update: I disassembled the laptop once again and the cable was still in place. I checked and the screen still did the same. However I disassembled the upper part of the laptop chassis and reassembled it.and this somehow fixed it
