Except if you plan on upgrading from 16gb of ram to 32gb i would recommend you to get 4x4 instead of 2x8 (streamer, editing or 3d render or Virtual machines=Yes, probably need 32gb. streame editing or 3d render or Virtual machinesr=no, don't need 32gb)

It's a very good build. You won't need the wraith max because the 2600 comes with a decent cooler so I removed that to save a bit. I also saved £10 on the ssd (The sandisk one is probably better than Western Digital anyways) and changed the ram to corsair vengeance to save a bit more. Although if you want rgb be sure to change it back. I also upgraded the psu with the money I saved as that psu isn't ideal for vega :

I should also mention there is a vega 56 strix model and a powercolor red dragon model for £20 more so that would be worth taking a look if you want a proper 3 fan vega card.

So is the wraith stealth that comes included good enough for the 2600? Some places said it was not so that is why I thought maybe I should get the wraith max. And the Sandisk SSD is a 2.5 inch while the Western Digital was an M.2, wouldn't that make it better and worth it for £10 more?

The PSU change seems fair enough, is 550 enough though? And okay I will take a look into the different Vega 56 models.

Thank you for replying

The wraith stealth is great for stock performance, although that price for the max is not so bad, so if you wanted that OC to like 3.9 or 4.0 GHz it's not a bad buy

alternative PSU choice:

This is a good unit, a little underrated because of the non-modular design but quite good.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Of course it's good enough otherwise they wouldn't pair it with the 2600. It actually allows for a minor overclock too if you ever wanted to do that.

The 2.5inch and M.2 thing basically just means a different form factor. That's all really. Western Digital are known for pretty much being a very budget oriented storage brand. Sandisk are sort of in the mid-high end of the spectrum on that, so I'd assume the SSD Plus has the advantage.

550w is enough, if you are considering a major overclock then maybe it's worth spending an extra £10 or so for the 650w model instead.

wHY?

getting something else than a 2*8GB config is silly for 16 GB. not only it more expencive to run 4*4GB you risk loosing Ram overclocking potential. something that is more or a concern with Ryzen (though minimal at this point in time)

Okay thank you, I won't buy an aftermarket cooler for now then, I am planning on overclocking eventually so if I feel like I should I will then buy a cooler then. And okay, well I will think about getting the Sandisk one instead then. And yeah I might buy the 650w just in case, £10 pounds will not make much difference.

Thank you for the suggestions, the ram seems very good so I might swap to that instead of the trident Z. But I think I might stick with the 1 TB of SSD, as I don't think I will need that much storage. Right now I only have 1 TB of HDD and only about 70% of it filled, so there is no point in my buying a 2 TB HDD I would say. I might spend the extra money on the vega 64 though, I am not sure I have seen lots of places saying the 56 is more worth it for the money especially if undervolted and overclocked

Its hard to get a better build than the ibe i posted, but if you want to use only a 1TB SSD then that is up to you.

Remember to pick uo the PSU i ociked out as you really need it over the one you picked.

Vega 64 is better and to get the most out of the vega 56 it needs to be BIOS modded. Other than that id just run it stock.

What makes the PSU you picked so much better than the one I had?

Yours has lacking protections. Its old and will provabky fail to deliver powet to the GPU while havign a chance to fail and take the entire system with it

I suggest just picking up my build and swapping out the SSD
