1. Budget & Location

~2000 euro (Netherlands)

2. Aim

My current setup has been with me for a while now (~5 years, without any upgrades). So I feel it's time to throw some money at the problem and upgrade to something new. The main goal of this pc is gaming (surprise?!) at 1440p 144Hz but it will also be used for software development (python, C# and some web development with PHP). The main games I'm currently playing are not the most demanding (Path of Exile, Sekiro) However I have the (bad) tendency to stick with my setup for at least 4 years without upgrading and then upgrade the whole machine again. So a "slight" overkill is maybe required.

3. Monitors

I current have a 1440p 144hz monitor which I'll be using for the new setup so no new monitor is being purchased at the moment.

4Peripherals

All the needed peripherals are already available and will be transferred to the new pc (mouse, keyboard and a microphone)

5. Why am I upgrading ?

I want to do a big enough upgrade that I won't need another one for least ~5 years or longer. The current system is running on its last legs.

It would be nice if I could reuse the old case (Fractal Design Arc Mini R2) if things are not going to fit I'll probably get my self a Fractal Design Define S.

The setup below is what I currently am considering. Any feedback regarding the cpu cooling is greatly appreciated but feel free to give any feedback at all.

Overclocking will probably occur but not to great extends I'll be mainly using existing software to come to a "safe" overclock by using Gigabyte's easy tune or Intel's Extreme Tuning Utility for example.

G.Skill Aegis F4-3000C16D-32GISB

Corsair HX1000 V2
