Displayport problem

I have a samsung 144Hz monitor that has hdmi 1.4 and displayport ports. The problem is that my laptop (Dell g5 5587) has an hdmi 2.0 slot but it has no displayport port. I thought of buying a thunderbolt to displayport adapter but all adapters that I found only support 4k at 60 Hz. But I need 1080p at 144Hz.

Just use HDMI, HDMI 1.4 can do 1080p 144Hz

Cinebench R15 Single thread:168 Multi-thread: 833 

SuperPi (v1.5 from Techpowerup, PI value output) 16K: 0.100s 1M: 8.255s 32M: 7m 45.93s

Samsung didnt have one of those as far as I'm aware, premium brand like this dont need to do this. Still good to know the actual model though

Most samsung models are limited to 120 Hz over HDMI, they don't support the full 144 Hz. Not a good difference but it's still something to be aware of. Should always research products limitations, HDMI version numbers cannot be used to determine the limitations.
