Depends how many PCIe lanes you have used/available. 

If your top GPU needs to drop down from x16 to x8 you're going to notice some losses. 

 

Note: If you're planning on using Nvidia Surround (multiscreen gaming), it's not going to work if the surround displays are connected to different GPUs. 

 

Notenote: If you're interested in boosting preformance while gaming, look into DifferentSLIAuto. It allows you to enable SLI across different cards, even ones with no SLI bridge as it utilizes near-crossfire implementations (communicates via the PCIe)
