Above is my current build, the primary pci slot is shorted on the motherboard and the I5 3570k is now starting to top out with the games I am currently playing.

My question is would it be worth it to upgrade my motherboard, cpu and ram now or wait for ddr5? I know I wont be able to use my existing ram as it is ddr3 and not likely to be usable with any of the upgrades I'm able to consider.

Upgrade budget will be around 500 for all 3 components which I know is tight but what I can manage. I'm also looking to be able to stream world of warcraft and modded minecraft again once I have upgraded as right now it is just too much strain on the cpu.

Thank you in advance for you opinions and advice!

Wow?

Unlocked Intel. Current AMD chips don't have enough single threaded oomph for that game. Game-wise, Zen/+ is a sidegrade from your unlocked ivybridge i5 for wow. Streaming, maybe you can try NVENC to offset CPU overhead.

On mobile can't copy paste your link for some reason.

IMO wait for Zen2.

This.

Especially if you plan to keep using the same CPU for as long as your old one.

Desktop:

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 @3.75* RAM: 2 by 8gb G.Skill Flare X 2400 @2666* GPU Strix GTX 1070 @1880-ish

Storage: Samsung 860 Evo 500gb; 2x 2tb Seagate Barracuda Drives; 1tb hdd (It died after 4 years :();

Laptop: (HP Stream 11-y010nr "Spent all my money on my Desktop" Edition)

CPU: Intel Celeron N3060 @160 BILLION hertz RAM: 400 BILLION bytes Samsung DDR3L @160 BILLION hertz

GPUIntel HIGH DEFINITION Graphics @32 BILLION hertz

Storage: 32 TRILLION bytes of SOLID STATE emmc C drive with 64 TRILLION bytes of SOLID STATE microSD card D drive.

*Overclocked around 25% of the time... questionably stable.
