Hey, first time on this category here, so please let me know if I did anything wrong.

So basically, I'm going off to college next semester, and I'd like to downsize my PC physically so I don't have to lug around a massive goddamn tower with me. It's a cooler master storm enforcer case, and back then, 13 year old me practically nutted to this "gamer-y" look.

In the past two years I've begun to regret this decision, not only because it looks disgusting to me now, and also it's huge and unwieldy.

ANYWAY, on to the point of this post. It's got an i7-4790k in it, and I feel no need to upgrade it any time soon, so I'd like to switch to a micro atx board to fit inside a smaller micro atx case.

My requirements for the case would be: windowed side panel, decent cable management, a minimum of three hard drive and 1 SSD slot, has front USB 3.0 ports (2 at least, more is cool!), and if it has at least 1 5.25'' external bay, that would be a huge bonus, but not required. I have this dope drawer in my case that I put a bunch of little tidbits I need to grab every now and then.

The motherboard would need to have 4 RAM slots, 4 or more SATAIII slots, an isolated or better than stock sound hardware chipset, USB 3.0, gigabit ethernet, and a debug led monitor would be extremely nice (since I have a Gigabyte z97x-Gaming 5 and I'm used to them for troubleshooting) along with an M.2 slot for the possible future. Not required, but if there are any USB C ports on it, I wouldn't be complaining.

I'm trying to keep costs under $200, I'm okay with looking at used hardware, but I'm willing to go above the limit if enticing options are shown. I know some of these requirements may be a little stringent, so I'd greatly appreciate your time. Thanks in advance!

Case: Cooler Master NR400 with ODD

Board: I assume 'better than stock audio codec" means no Realtek stuff. This alone limits you to the Asus Maximus VII Gene. Good luck getting one anywhere near your budget. It doesnt have USB-C either, and if pure blood ROG doesnt have it, nothing else will.

CPU: i7-2600K 4751MHz 1.44V (software) --> 1.47V at the back of the socket Motherboard: Asrock Z77 Extreme4 (BCLK: 103.3MHz) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 RAM: Adata XPG 2x8GB DDR3 (XMP: 2133MHz 10-11-11-30 CR2, custom: 2203MHz 10-11-10-26 CR1 tRFC:230 tREFI:14000) GPU: Asus GTX 1070 Dual (Super Jetstream vbios, +70(2025-2088MHz)/+400(8.8Gbps)) SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB (main boot drive), Transcend SSD370 128GB PSU: Seasonic X-660 80+ Gold Case: Antec P110 Silent, 5 intakes 1 exhaust Monitor: AOC G2460PF 1080p 144Hz (150Hz max w/ DP, 121Hz max w/ HDMI) TN panel Keyboard: Logitech G610 Orion (Cherry MX Blue) with SteelSeries Apex M260 keycaps Mouse: BenQ Zowie FK1

That's a great case! For the 2nd part, I get your point, I haven't had much luck finding non overpriced 2nd hand boards. Would you recommend I save up for an upgrade to a more recent CPU system in that case?

What if you take away the audio codec requirement? mATX can hold sound cards (even though Realtek stuff serves my ears well)
