Hai....I am going to buy a laptop and I have some doubts.
I'm looking at a laptop called Lenovo Ideapad 330 15arr(not 8gb variant with 768p display)
Processor:Ryzen 5 2500u
Ram:4gb
Resolution:1080p
HDD:1TB
Graphics:Vega 8

and I want to upgrade it
So it support up to 16gb...4gb is soldered and non removable and I was wondering if I should buy a 8gb more or 4gb because it supports dual channel.....so which is better dual channel or extra 4gb?...

How can I squeeze more out of this??...I also thinking about a m.2 drive also!

I am a noob coming to laptops....I know only things from internet I have no experience!...this is gonna be my first lap!

really thats only if you need that much ram, really what are you going to be doing on a mobile ryzen 5 anyway where you'd need more than 8gb of ram

 

i say go for adding 4gb just to be certain, and because i dont think you'd realistically need 12, 16 or 20gb total, but if you were to add way more ram it would more than likely just run part of the ram as dual channel and leave the rest as single channel

its kinda like hitting swap when you max your ram but instead of suddenly going from DDR4 speeds to sata speeds, you just go from ddr4 speeds to slightly less fast ddr4 speeds
