is 8gb enough

basically i want to buy a new pc ryzen 2600 b450m pro4 with 8gb 3000 mhz of ram but i only have £500. is 8gb enough to play any game without any issues bare in mind i only play games on the lowest settings 1080p and maybe in some game ill have only the texture on high but everything on low. and im just asking if i should go with 16gb or 8gb

Are you aware that the Ryzen 2600 doesn't have an iGPU?

 

8GB should be enough for most games, but for new AAA titles you might have some trouble, it's recommended to get 16GB but it depends on the games you usually play, I don't think graphics settings affect RAM usage much, if at all.

with my budget its either 16gb with a lower end gpu or 8gb with a much better gpu im struggling to choose

Go with the better GPU and upgrade to 16GB later

ik im planning either a new rx 580 or a used gtx 1070

Don't know much about Rust but a friend has 8GB and supposedly it runs just fine

Rust is such a bad example tbh, people are reporting memory leaks and excessive memory use in general (10-14GB). I would definitely get 16GB of RAM (2*8GB) and save in the GPU-department, seeing that Rush runs on a toaster. You could pick up some ~R9 280 for $50 and save for a better GPU.
