Ryzen 2600x or i5-8400

Go to solution Solved by Skiiwee29,

2600x easily. The 2600x does NOT have an iGPU so you will be required to have a dedicated GPU to use it.

Also.. why think about getting a Z390 with a locked Processor? Waste of money.

I have the choice between those two builds :

Usage :

Primarily for opening a thousands tabs on Firefox, mobile development (a couple of android emulators running) , Photoshop, maybe some light video editing.

No GPU for the moment, but will probably add one later from team green for gaming.

What do you recommend?

ps: i kinda know that the Ryzen build is better just double checking if everything is good. ?

pps: please don't recommend other build as those are my only options.

thanks for reading.

Ryzen 2600x is better and you can oc it. If you are lazy like me and don't bother with overclocking then get a i5 8500 with a b360 board.

Mainboard:ROG-STRIX-B360-G-GAMING/Cpu:I5 8400 /Gpu: Galax RTX 2070 /Ram: Corsair Vengeance 16 GB DDR4/ Storage:1TB HDD 2 Corsair SSD PSU : Corsair 550W/Cooling: Silverstone Air Cooler/ / Case : Corsair/Keyboard:Razer Chroma TKL/Mouse:Mionix Castor+Steelseries Qck Mass/Headphone:V Moda M100

Quote me if you when me to reply to something.

With a 2600x you will need a dedicated GPU to get any type of video output. The only Ryzen CPUs with integrated graphics is the 2200g and 2400g.

If you go for ryzen and plan on overclocking, I would recommend the 2600 non X. It would perform about the same as the 2600x.
