So I found this ad on Craigslist and this guy was selling his PC for a total of $350 with no GPU (I already have one so I don’t care). So I was wondering if this PC is a good deal and if I should get it? Currently I have a Corsair VS 650 PSU 80+ BQ, EVGA GTX 1060 3GN FTW, i5 4570, 12GB DDR3 1600 MHz, WD Blue 1TB, stock HP ms motherboard, and stock CPU intel cooler. Has integrated WiFi card and Bluetooth. No case fans, but also has a dvd read/write drive bay and USB ports and all that. I have upgraded this PC by the way. It’s an HP Envy 700 074 I think. Also has Windows 10 Professional.

And this guy on Craigslist is selling his PC (I’m assuming it’s over 3 or 4 years old or so). The specs are an i7 4770k, Corsair RM750X 80+ GQ, Asus Z87 Pro, Corsair Vengeance LP 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz, Noctua Nh-D14, Samsung 840 Evo 250GB SSD, Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM, Fractal Design R4, and Windows 10 Professional. No case fans.

So so I want an opinion on if this is worth the money. I have done some research on all these parts, and it says that this rig would have cost more than $1,000 new? Hopefully I’m not wrong?

The CPU isn't much of an upgrade, but the cooler and case are like $90 and $90 retail. So if you really want those components go for it I guess, can always resell other stuff too later

If you want a better CPU overall, maybe wait for June/July when Ryzen 3000 comes out and has cheap 5ghz 8 cores/16 threads maybe.

If nothing else it'll probably have a $99 6 core/12 thread CPU.

That PC in general is not worth $1000 and hasn't been worth that for quite some time

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

sadly the spu alone takes away ~$100. that leaves to $250

:take used i5 ~$50

you could buy new parts for $200

For $1000build you can easily build one new with much greater performance.

So would that mean this is a bad deal or good deal? Because I’m thinking about upgrading some stuff.

Only if you really like the case and cooler, if you want a real hardware upgrade just try and hold out for Ryzen 3000 relatively shortly.
