Hey hey,

I got a laptop here where some kid installed a linux version onto. Now the grub loader is corrupted and i cant get into anny OS without a small detour. I can still get to windows with boot manager tools but once i get into windows there is no mention of a boot OS in Msconfig.

Also starting from a Win 7 Dvd and going through bootrec.exe it shows no os with the /scanos command.

Annyone anny tips on how to fix the MBR here and or fix grub??

are you wanting to fix grub or restore the windows MBR

this should get windows to take control over the boot again

http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/17521-how-fix-mbr-through-command-prompt.html

then if you want you could reinstall grub

Use your windows installation disk and then enter

(no quotation marks)

"BOOTREC /FIXMBR" and press Enter
"BOOTREC /FIXBOOT" and press Enter.
"BOOTREC /SCANOS" and press Enter.
"BOOTREC /REBUILDBCD" and press Enter.

Apart from that, I don't honestly know what will work. Not sure if you'e tried this, I couldn't tell from your first post.

After that, another option would be to re-install Windows

Compatible with Windows 95
