Anyone has experience with Presonus Eris 3.5s?

I'm looking to get my hands on one of these, and almost ready to pull the trigger. Just a couple of questions. 

 

1) Any of you who does not deal with music professionally and has experience with this? I'm not a recording artist, neither do I mix any music. I just want a good set of multimedia speakers that are good for media consumption and gaming. However, what I'm hearing from some reviews is that the sound is really flat, and this might hinder my listening experience, since the way listeners hear and the way recording artists hear is different(?, something along these lines)

 

2) Any way to attach a subwoofer to this down the line? Seems like this speaker does not have sub output, but it is advertised as being able to work with one of the Presonus subs. How does this work? Would I be able to get it to work with a subwoofer if I purchase one (non-Presonus) in the future?
