I wouldn't go wireless as they are lacking in almost every way possible.

I'd say the new Audio technicas are some of the best gaming grade headphones that you can buy right now. And with both open and closed back models they have a good one for everyone.

Except they are roughly $200 over priced, and suck with music.

I think either would be fine. My roommate has G930 and he likes them. I had a Logitech one (not G930) and after a few years the battery got weaker and weaker and the plug got weaker. So I was plugged in all the time and there was a point where the plug was so loose that it would just fall out so it made them unusable. I guess I could have used tape but I just opted for the new wired set and never looked back.

The new audio technicas? The one's based off the A-700X? They sound really good for gaming and music.

AD700x and A700x are both $140 headphones. The AG's cost $400.

And only the A700x are passable for music, most prefer to have some form of a low end.

Amusing, price dropped from CES, that was last time I bother to look at the STILL over priced product.

I own the logitech g930, its pretty solid (I actually have one brand new in box after RMA, since i am using steel series wireless H now). They lasted 2 years before i accidently broke the microphone... would have lasted much longer. the 3 year warrenty is good and you can replace the battery by getting one off ebay if you really wanted.

I have a 2019 macbook pro with 64gb of ram and my gaming pc has been in the closet since 2018

Do you think that they REALLY attached a $150 boom mic to a "gamer" product. The drivers aren't worth their salt, and Audio Technica is pushing out another product everyone will buy for a price its not worth.

well going off the price of the SAME HEADPHONES that don't have a mic. An extra $35-$50 isn't bad.

Which would put them at $200, at which point its understandable. $100 more for a dac and amp that probably blows dick or does little isn't justifiable.

You can get better all around headphones for less. And a better mic.

First to come to mind, HD518 and a Snowflake.

have you tried the headphones your self? I've heard nothing but good reviews of them, same goes for the regualr ones. People love them for games because they have good sound quality at a great price. And were are you getting the DAC and AMP thing? Are you saying buying one or what?

Have tried both of the headphones they are based off extensively, didn't enjoy them in the slightest for gaming or music. No low end, no presence.

The AG's come with an amp and dac, which will probably be garbage.

You don't have to use the DAC. It's there encase you want to use USB over 3.5.

I've used and own the a700X and love them, one of the best headphones I have ever used yet. I hear all the foot steps I need to for games, they keep out enough noise to use at LANs. They are a good par of cans IMO. For music the mids are some what lacking but it's not really to noticeable to me.

Well lets be honest with each other, sound is purely subjective.

But why spend $100 for the solution, then not use it, and I am criticizing the fact its probably no better or worse than onboard. You feel?
