Windows 8 camera app sucks

I am trying to get my freinds dslr to be used as a camera on windows 8 but I don't know any decent camera apps for windows that I could do this with , any suggestions?

 if u can do it on the camera app then xsplit or OBS would work for sure

also dxtory would as well

unless u already have xsplit use OBS instead its free

The Windows 8 camera app is complete garbage, you cant do anything on that and I couldn't get it to work on Xsplit or OBS.
