HDD slowed down?

Out of the blue, my secondary drive, regular WD Blue 3TB, slowed down. When using Windows File Explorer it says "Working on it..." and takes like a minute to open up the contents of anything on the drive. It is also terribly slow in transfer speeds. S.M.A.R.T. says nothing, CrystalDiskInfo neither. Any ideas as to what went wrong?
