Assuming that the resolutions are the same, if you have this enabled, turn the deinterlacing filter from decomb to off or Yadif (preferably 2x if the source content is at 59.94i) if it's interlaced.

is there a reason I would want the deinterlacing filter to be decomb instead of off? should I use these settings for everything?

what would be the difference between off and Yadif?

I don't know much about these things.

By default, most of the presets have deinterlacing set to decombing. It will attempt to deinterlace the content regardless of whether or not it's actually interlaced.

Off will not deinterlace the content and Yadif is a different process that's effectively field interpolation. If your content isn't interlaced, just turn it off; otherwise, use Yadif.

ok, but for all my other Movies/TV shows should I also have no deinterlacing?

could I potentially get other issues with no deinterlacing on other videos?

Deinterlacing is more of a post processing thing, I'd suggest having it off

That kind of thing could also be from original recording. Its not that uncommon if that was recorded when technology was still analog. So in 50s to 60s. I can remember seeing that happening even in 90s news broadcasts.
