I'm working on my elite 110 build at the office today but I'm wondering if I should switch back to my R5 2600 because my R7 2700s clocks are lower and it seems to be affecting the rams clocks as well. Can some pros help with my situation thanks.

Motherboard - gigabyte aorus b450i pro wifi (same board both chips)

Ryzen R5 2600 - oc stable clock to 4.2g ram to 3.6g(G.skill trident z)

Let them testing for 2hrs

Ryzen R7 2700 - oc stable clock to 4.0g ram to 3.2g (G.skill trident z)

Any higher oc on the 2700 it crashes even the ram, I'm still pretty new at the moment so I wanted to ask

Which setup is more productive  for my workstation, I know the r7 2700 has more cores but the R5 2600 is faster, should i :

Go for more cores?

Go for better speed?

Open a gig x470 board and redo oc?

And why can't the same ram hit the same speeds?

Is it affected by cpu or power draw?

Which set up should I use for my workstation?

Thanks for help
